Last updated: 18 July 2026 · Version 1.0
This policy explains how Hyperbridge Pty Ltd handles personal information in connection with Cognomine. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
A note on scope: most of what you upload to Cognomine, block models, constraints, scenario assumptions, is technical and commercial data about a mine, not personal information. This policy covers personal information, meaning information about an identifiable individual, such as the account and contact details of the people who use the service. How we handle your commercial and technical data is covered by our Terms of Service.
1. What personal information we collect
- Account and contact details: name, work email, company, and role.
- Billing information. Payments are processed through our payment provider, Stripe. Card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by Hyperbridge. In the payment flow we exchange only an internally generated identifier and your verified email domain with Stripe.
- Usage information: log data, device and browser information, and records of how the service is used, for security and to operate the platform.
- Any personal information you choose to include in communications with us.
We do not seek to collect personal information within uploaded block models, and ask that you do not include it.
2. How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you when you create an account, purchase a credit, contact us, or use the service. We collect usage and log information automatically as you use the service. The only external services in the beta are our cloud host and Stripe, so no analytics or cookies are in use.
3. Why we collect and use it
We use personal information to create and manage your account, provide and support the service, process payments, communicate with you including expiry reminders, maintain security, meet legal obligations, and improve the service. We do not sell personal information. We do not use your data, models, or results to train, tune, or improve the service in a way that touches another customer.
4. Disclosure
We may disclose personal information to:
- Our cloud hosting provider, which stores Cognomine data in Australia.
- Our payment provider, Stripe, which processes payments under its own terms and privacy policy. We share only an internally generated identifier and your verified email domain with Stripe.
- Professional advisers, and authorities where required by law.
These are the only external services that handle data in connection with Cognomine during the current beta. We require service providers to protect personal information consistent with this policy and the APPs.
5. Data location and cross-border disclosure
We store Cognomine data in Australia.
Payments are handled by Stripe, which operates its own global infrastructure and may process the limited billing information described above outside Australia under its own terms and privacy policy.
6. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited to authorised personnel and systems, and the platform is built on a security program aligned to ISO 27001. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Retention and deletion
We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. Data associated with a credit or subscription is deleted within 30 minutes of expiry, and residual backups are purged within 7 days. We cannot restore data after expiry. Account and billing records may be retained longer where the law requires, for example tax and financial records.
8. Your rights
Under the APPs you may request access to the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Contact us at support@hyperbridge.info and we will respond within a reasonable period, usually within 30 days.
9. Complaints
If you believe we have breached the APPs, contact us at support@hyperbridge.info and we will investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy and will post the updated version with a new date. Material changes will be notified where appropriate.
